Our client, a leader in the food industry is looking for an automation robotic technician to join their team.

JOB STATEMENT
As the Automation and Robotics Maintenance Technician, the person is the primarily responsible for the general maintenance including but not limited to troubleshooting, parameters setup, integration, communication, improvement and any other requested Work Orders, of all facility and production equipment, in order to ensure the production flow and minimize or eliminate any down time. Also, works and directs the maintenance personnel on site (millwright, electrician, set up, parts supply) to correct and repair malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner. Responsible to achieve the goals and complete the tasks in an efficient and timely manner with respect to the Health and Safety, G.M.P. and all other policies and regulations in effect.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible to install, follow up, troubleshoot and provide solutions for the Automated Production Lines and Robots, equipment, machines, facility, devices, in order to meet the technical specifications and performance.
  • Coordinate with the designated technicians, to ensure parts availability, parameters setup, repairs, preventative maintenance and all other tasks required to achieve the production flow on all the lines, auxiliary equipment and utilities, are performed in time and in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for keeping records, parameters, setup details, saved software, programs, diagrams and communication procedures with all the Logic Control, Programmable devices, equipment, machines, machineries and Robots.
  • Work with all the other departments to set procedures, logic sequence, data integration, rates, limits and interlocking, communication between equipment, accessories and devices of the Automated Lines and Robots
  • Provide solutions based on the data from Logic Controls, Robots, monitoring devices, etc. in order to maintain optimal flow rates, tighten up work schedules, reduce overtime and eliminate the need for rework.
  • Elaborate procedures and any other technical documentation needed for setup, maintenance, operation, process or repair for the equipment, lines, Robots, etc.
  • Responsible for work compliance with GMP, HACCP and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Review and comply with daily production requirements and schedule.
  • Follow CMMS work orders, fill up and submit all the required forms.
  • All other duties as required

Health and Safety

  • Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner.
  • Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required.
  • Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe / hazardous conditions to the Shift Supervisor / Manager.
  • Report any damages of property and machinery to management.
    • Ensure that you and your team understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area.
    • Ensure you comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace (covered during orientation – section 28 of the OHSA “Green Book”), Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, and H.A.C.C.P. Programs

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Strong troubleshooting and programming skills, knowledge of Industrial Lines Programs, Electrical Controls, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Process Automation, Robots and related equipment concepts
    • Electrical license / E.S.A. compliance
    • PLC / HMI / VFD and computerized systems programming, troubleshooting, maintenance and integration
    • Experience with ABB, Schubert or similar Robots is considered an asset
    • Ability to maintain professional working relationship with coworkers
    • Available for working shifts, extra time and emergency calls
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
