Our client, a leader in the automotive tubing industry is looking for a talented Bender Set-Up technician in Mississauga.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Work with due consideration to safety.
- Wear safety glasses, safety shoes and ear protection at all times.
- Conduct daily preventative maintenance procedures and check all safety devices.
- Keep areas clear, clean, safe and organized.
- Inspect fixtures/samples for damage.
- Verify material type, gauge, length and diameter by using Vernier Calipers, measuring tapes and other measuring tools.
- Capable of operating the benders and all the support equipment.
- Capable of training operators how to properly operate the equipment.
- Report any mechanical, technical or production problem to a supervisor.
- Do not leave machines unattended while the machine is running.
- Responsible and accountable for logging work activities into CMS.
- Responsible and accountable for quality and quantity accuracy (rates/hour).
- Responsible and accountable for filling out tags and production sheets accurately.
- Capable of corresponding with the opposite shift Set-Up Technician to ensure a smooth and efficient
continuation of the production schedule.
- Encourage the operators to work safely, think efficiently and produce quality parts.
- Capable of solving any production problems that arises during the shift.
SET-UP OPERATOR (skill level required)
- Capable of deciding which machine is best suited to produce part for best quality and performance.
- Capable of developing new bend programs by using the original part and/or drawing coordinates.
- Able to develop initial bend program and inspections on the CMM measuring arm.
- Capable of tooling selection and troubleshooting final settings.
- Capable of reporting manufacturing procedures of new products on specification sheets including
raw materials, machine numbers, tooling description, and any other special notes.
- Capable of providing assistance and training to other Set-Up Technician and machine operators
- Capable of setting up and operating the benders and all the support equipment

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Schedule: Day shift , 7am – 3pm
Salary: $21 – $25
