Our client, a leader in the Metal Coating Industry is looking for a Line Inspector to join their team.
SUMMARY
Inspects and tests finished paint line product to ensure conformance to customer requirements as communicated in the line specification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts and records the results of visual inspection and quality control testing on paint line product.
- Conducts calibration and verification testing on selected equipment.
- Collect, identifies, and stores retain samples of paint line product
- Shift work.
- Other duties as assigned
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
- To perform this job the Line Inspector must be able to safely and properly use the following tools:
- Safety and protective equipment
- Lab equipment including ovens and presses
- Power shear, foot shear, and hand shear
- Computer systems
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years of coil coating experience.
LANGUAGE SKILL
- Ability to read and interpret documentation such as technical specifications, operating instructions and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally to other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to perform accurate calculations using basic arithmetic concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication), whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
- Ability to perform basic measurements.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply understanding based on experience to carry out instructions given in written, oral, numeric or diagram form.
- Ability to resolve complex problems involving a large number of variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of the Quality Assurance Technician.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to lift, reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk.
- For this position, the individual must possess good colour acuity.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Rotating Shift
Salary: $50,000 – $55,000
