Our client a leader in the aluminum extrusion is looking for a Maintenance Team Lead to join their team in Woodbridge, Ontario

Job Summary: 

Leads the Maintenance Team of approximately 2 people on a daily basis to fix equipment and perform
preventative maintenance as required. Will make decisions on the best utilization of manpower for crew
productivity, safety, quality and housekeeping, etc. to obtain the shift’s objectives. This is a hands-on position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is an active hands on member of the Maintenance Team.
  • Coordinates activities for the Shift Maintenance Team from schedules provided by the Maintenance Scheduler / Day Shift Team Lead / Open Work Orders
  • Provides training as required to Millwrights/Mechanics / Electricians as suitable
  • Communicates effectively with Engineering and Maintenance
    Manager
  • Communicates effectively with previous and next shift General Foreman
  • Interacts with all other Department Heads when job tasks involve such departments
  • Responds to emergency break down calls from all Departments and assigns tasks to the Maintenance Crew accordingly including themselves
  • Ensures all Employees follow work instructions/procedures
  • Ensures the completion of Maintenance Work Orders
  • Ensures the completion of all Preventive Maintenance documents (paper and electronic)
  • Job Knowledge (if applicable):

Experience:

  • Millwright 443A or Industrial Electrician 442A certification.
  • Minimum 5 years in the aluminum extrusion industry or equivalent work experience (prefered).
  • Experience supervising and leading maintenance teams in manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Good people and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, direct, coach and/or train team members

  • Ability to trouble shoot with an analytical approach
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical / electrical and hydraulic drawings
  • Ability for welding
  • Ability for milling
  • Ability for drilling
  • Ability for grinding
  • Ability for fabricating
  • Ability for plumbing
  • Use of torque tools (power drill, electric and pneumatic operated ratchets)
  • Use of precision equipment (dial calipers)
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, PLCs, SCADA, automation.
  • Knowledge, training and experience in the safe operation of forklifts, overhead cranes and hoists
  • Exposure to basic computer skills is desired
  • Ability to demonstrate a “Mechanically Inclined” work aptitude

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to crouch, bend, kneel frequently throughout a day
  • Must be able of lifting to a maximum weight of 27.5kgs
