Description

Our client, a leader in the Aluminium/HVAC Industry is looking for a Mechanical Design Drafter (Engineer) to join their team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop new prints, re-engineering old prints and reverse engineering prints from customer specifications
  • Maintaining regular contact with key customers to communicate production timelines and allow product design to meet delivery expectations. Working to enter and prioritize orders in shop based on customer needs. Communicating issues to customers and co-ordinating product design response.
  • Review of estimate and quotations prepared by sales department.
  • Position instructions, standardized drawings and comments onto drawings.
  • Produce submittal shop drawings to communicate details of product and how it integrates into the building construction.
  • Produce bills of materials and fabrication drawings for production.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Analysis of customer mechanical specifications generating technical solutions through design.
  • Customer Quality, Outgoing inspections of orders. Maintenance of quality records.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of department design standards and existing products.
  • Position instructions, standardized drawings and comments onto drawings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within the manufacturing field.
  • Ability to read construction documents including architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and interpreting specifications.
  • Requirement Analysis, Deadline-Oriented, Self-Motivated, Design Skills, Analyzing Information, Highly Organized.
  • In-depth knowledge of 2D drafting platforms (AutoCAD).
  • In-depth knowledge of 3D modeling platforms (Solidworks / Javelin / Driveworks Solo).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Solid understanding of metal properties.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Be able to thrive within a busy working environment to meet scheduled/rush delivery dates;
  • Requires the ability to exert physical effort and must be able to work within a fast paced environment;
  • Able to work independently and with a team;
  • Be punctual for shifts.

Hours & Benefits:

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 6:45am – 3:00pm or 7:00am – 3:15pm

Salary: $55K to 65K per year
