Our client, a leader in the Automotive Industry, is looking for a talented Millwright to join their team.

Scope: Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains production and production supporting equipment with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanic components. Maintains facilities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensed Millwright in the province of Ontario or a 2 or 3 year Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment in a maintenance position.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical theory for CNC machines and automated systems.
  • Ability to use milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Ability to perform basic pipe and hose installations.
  • Ability to perform basic low voltage electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate Mig, Tig and Acetylene torch and plasma equipment an asset.
  • Familiar with the maintenance and repair of 6 axis robots.
  • Familiar with the maintenance and repair of CNC equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the health and safety of self and others by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for advancing the safety, quality and productivity of the automated equipment through innovation.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment which includes hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Repair and/or replace hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, pipes, hoses, filters, gearboxes, bearing assemblies, etc.
  • Set up and operate tool room equipment such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, etc. to manufacture close tolerance components.
  • Fabricate frames, platforms and other structural components by utilizing Mig, Tig and Arc welding equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical trouble shooting tasks and install replacement / replace sensors and safety devices.
  • Improve hydraulic circuits and systems with regards to the stoppage of leaks, cleanliness of hydraulic systems and basic service and diagnostics of pumps.
  • Work as a team player to troubleshoot and expedite the required repair. Document procedures for distribution and knowledge sharing.
  • Inform the maintenance manager about modifications made to control circuitry and update all applicable drawings in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and take ownership of assigned work orders and preventive/predictive maintenance system assignments.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment and facilities as required.
  • Work co-operatively to implement and maintain safety standards for all equipment and work areas according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the work area and equipment are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times.
  • Inform the Maintenance Manager or management in writing of non-conformance issues with regards to safety of employees, safety of equipment and machine design.
  • Work in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and workmanship.
  • Repair and maintain CNC lathes and milling equipment.
  • Adhere to the standards and rules described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as required within his/her abilities.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Night Shift

Salary: $39/hour
