Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for new data center construction projects as well as existing projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles, as well as several years of experience in design consultation for building systems. Experience in critical sectors is considered an asset, particularly in the fields of healthcare, utilities, or defense.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical designs for new projects and renovate existing projects as needed.
• Prepare mechanical drawings (plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, fuel systems, and fire protection systems), specifications, and project plans.
• Prepare reports and calculations for loads, HVAC, etc.
• Liaise with mechanical service providers such as Gaz Métro, Énergir, City of Montreal for gas, sprinkler, and water upgrades.
• Other assigned responsibilities.

Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Bilingual
• Ability to travel internationally
• Familiarity with various codes and standards such as IEEE, CBC, RBQ, etc.
• Member of OIQ, PEO, or another Canadian engineering organization
• ASP construction safety certification or willingness to undergo training

Contract Information:

• Full-time – Permanent
• Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year
• Benefits: Dental care, Extended health insurance, Paid time off, Vision care
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, possibility of remote work 2 days per week
• Occasional travel to Canada, the United States, and the European Union may be required
