Purchasing Manager – Manufacturing

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join their manufacturing team. This key role is responsible for the cost-effective management of the procurement and flow of all materials, ensuring the company meets both internal and external customer requirements.ProfilJob Responsibilities:1. Ensure on-time supplier delivery with zero defects and timely shipments to customers.2. Negotiate key supplier contracts/agreements, safeguarding the Company's interests.3. Collaborate with other departments and Corporate to achieve and maintain the highest customer satisfaction rating and strive for zero defects in all business areas.4. Ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) standards.5. Develop the purchasing team to meet Company objectives and facilitate effective communication within the team and organization.6. Complete all APQP and ECR activities, ensuring the purchasing team plays a proactive and supportive role.7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in areas of responsibility year-over-year.8. Identify employee training needs and work with HR to schedule necessary training; ensure cross-training plans exist for all required positions.9. Hold regular department meetings and follow up on action items.10. Enforce department standardized work instructions/procedures and conduct corrective counseling as needed.11. Update or generate work instructions/procedures as required.12. Resolve 8D issues as needed.13. Complete business plan activities as required.14. Meet budget requirements.15. Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities.16. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.17. Promote and comply with health, safety, and ISO14001 environmental standards, good housekeeping practices, and the use of protective equipment at all times.18. Attend authorized training to develop or maintain job-related knowledge, techniques, skills, and/or certification.19. Perform job duties in a work environment that may include varying levels of noise and temperature.20.
