Our client, a food manufacturing leader in Cambridge is looking for a talented Production Supervisor to join their team.
The Production Supervisor position have been created, due to the addition of a second shift.
This is a salary position, reporting directly to the Plant Lead. This role is an afternoon’s position but the candidate needs to be flexible. Here are the key responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
· Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to a group of 10 – 15 Technical Operators, Maintenance Personnel and Sanitation Crew Members
· Lead daily Production Meetings and coordinate shift to shift communication sessions
· Drive Continuous Improvement in Cost, Quality and Health & Safety
· Develop and engage team members, through training and growth opportunities
· Report daily activities through clear, concise production reports to both Plant Lead and Maintenance Lead
· Responsible for the control of inventory of materials, allocating material and meeting production deadlines
Essential Skills and Qualifications
· College or Bachelor degree in Food Science Technology/Engineering or related field
· Broad range of experience with Operational Systems
· Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing Quality and Health & Safety Systems/Programs
· A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to “win”
· Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team
· 3 – 5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
· Knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing would be considered an asset
· Strong communication skills
