Description

Our client, a leader in the Aluminium/HVAC industry is looking for a Senior Mechanical Aluminium Designer (Engineer) to join their team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • As a growing manufacture, our clients  are seeking a motivated Mechanical Designer to support our team. Designer will work in an office setting, reviewing specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts. Designer will have working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD.
  • Create new prints, re-engineering old prints and reverse engineering prints from
    customer specifications
  • Position instructions, standardized drawings and comments onto drawings.
  • Responsible for presenting drawing it to a project engineer. If the model is approved, designers may then finalize designs and sent prints to the production department.
  • Produce submittal shop drawings to communicate details of product and how it integrates into the building construction.
  • Produce bills of materials and fabrication drawings for production.
  • Demonstrate a desire for continuous improvement of design procedures and a propensity to create flexible but efficient methods for design.
  • Analysis of customer mechanical specifications generating technical solutions through design.
  • Customer Quality, Outgoing inspections of orders. Maintenance of quality records.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of department design standards and existing products.
  • Develop, test and implement new products.
  • Analyze current & potential product design issues and implement improvements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within the manufacturing field.
  • Ability to read construction documents including architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and interpreting specifications.
  • Requirement Analysis, Deadline-Oriented, Self-Motivated, Design Skills, Analyzing Information, Highly Organized.
  • In-depth knowledge of 2D drafting platforms (AutoCAD).
  • In-depth knowledge of 3D modeling platforms (Solidworks / Javelin / Driveworks Solo).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal shop environment and process including sheet metal.
  • Solid understanding of metal properties.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Be able to thrive within a busy working environment to meet scheduled/rush delivery dates;
  • Requires the ability to exert physical effort and must be able to work within a fast paced environment;
  • Able to work independently and with a team;
  • Be punctual for shifts.

Hours & Benefits:

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 6:45am – 3:00pm or 7:00am – 3:15pm

Salary: $65K to 85K per year
