Our client, a leader in the design and conception of data centers is looking for a talented Construction Project Manager to join their team.

Position: Construction Project Manager

Job Description:

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing, scheduling, tracking, contracting, and leading construction projects for new and existing data center building construction (industrial construction). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, civil, electrical, and building engineering systems and principles and several years of previous relevant experience managing construction projects with budgets between 10M-300M$.

Mission critical experience is considered an asset such as experience in Healthcare, Utilities, or Defense. The candidate will work closely with the Design Engineers, Junior Project Managers, Drafters, to ensure that all design requirements are met.

An ideal candidate will be familiar with various codes and standards such as IEEE, CBC, RBQ, etc. and should be a member of the OIQ, PEO, or other Canadian Engineering organization.

Candidates should be fluent in both French and English and have completed an ASP Construction Safety Certification, or would be willing to undergo training with the company. The candidate will be assisted in obtaining Reliability Status Clearance with the Federal Government.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop project gantt charts, schedules, for new projects and retrofits existing projects as needed.
  • Chairs design meetings, meetings with suppliers and contractors.
  • Works with engineers to obtain specification packages, bid packages, reports and contract packages.
  • Liaise with utilities and municipalities to obtain permits, and utility upgrades.
  • Prepares project reports, presentations, to customers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintains stakeholder registry, requirements registry, etc. following PMBOK principles and standards.
  • Other project related responsibilities as assigned.
