Our client, a leading robotics and automation manufacture is looking for a Field Service Tech to join the team.

The role will be on the road 80% of the time. The majority of travel will be around the GTA and Ontario, with some travel across Canada required. This role will report to the head office in Mississauga when travel is not scheduled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Always manage customer relationships by going the extra mile and representing the company with pride and professionalism.
  • The role requires the ability to handle a flexible work and travel schedule.
  • The role requires the ability to travel to customer sites on short notice and frequently requires the ability to work long hours to meet customer needs.
  • Assist Robotics customers and internal personnel for the troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and programming problems related to Robotics equipment.
  • Establish a strong technical relationship and trust with the customer.
  • Works with the Customer Service Manager and/or related supervisor(s) to identify individual training needs to maintain and continuously improve skills and knowledge of Robotics products and applications. Collaborate with the Customer Service Manager and/or related supervisor(s) to pinpoint specific training requirements that will enhance and sustain proficiency and understanding of Robotics products and applications
  • Possessing a strong work ethic, determination, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead small teams to perform in-house and on-site projects (i.e. Preventive Maintenance, Retrofits of equipment, program launches etc.).

Education

  • Associate degree or trade certificate from an accredited institute.
  • 1-3 years related automation/robotics experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical prints and other related technical documentation.
  • Hands on experience in repair, servicing, or maintenance of electromechanical systems.
  • Intermediate PC skills/knowledge (Salesforce, MS Office environment, Internet, email, etc.) Willingness to travel (75% – 90%) for service and training assignments. Travel to headquarters in Germany may be required for varying duration for training purposes.

Language Skills

Strong interpersonal skills and English fluency are necessary for effective communication with customers and colleagues.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Canadian Passport or eligible to work long-term status in Canada, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license and car.
