Our client, a leader in the design conception and construction of data centers is looking for a talented Mechanical Designer to join their operations.
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description:
The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for new and existing data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles and several years of design consulting experience for electrical building systems.
Mission critical experience is considered an asset such as experience in Healthcare, Utilities, or Defense. The candidate will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all design requirements are met.
An ideal candidate will be familiar with various codes and standards such as IEEE, CBC, RBQ, etc. and should be a member of the OIQ, PEO, or other Canadian Engineering organization.
Candidates should have completed an ASP Construction Safety Certification, or would be willing to undergo training with the company.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops mechanical designs for new projects and retrofits existing projects as needed.
- Prepares mechanical drawings (plumbing, HVAC, fuel systems), specifications, and project plans.
- Prepares reports and load, HVAC calculations, etc.
- Liaise with mechanical utility providers such as Gas Metro, Energir, Ville de Montreal for gas, sprinkler, and water upgrades.
