Our clients, leaders in the automotive industry are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Coordinates program vendor activities including design, tooling, and parts suppliers to ensure cost and delivery and quality targets are met according to customer’s requirements and schedules. Supports various engineering projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and participate in coordination of Engineering projects for on-time and in-budget completion of all customer required deliverables for these projects.
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring APQP for both prototype and production requirements.
  • Provides support to the Engineering team as required and as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Design and Coordinate the specification and procurement of tooling, gauging for new launches as required
  • Coordination and implementation of Engineering changes as required.
  • Attends and / or conducts meetings with customer, with respect to design / launch reviews.
  • Maintains proper filing systems to ensure all information are properly stored and easily retrieved.
  • Assist in the development of quotations for new work and engineering changes.
  • Assists with the creation of quality documentation and work instructions for new equipment and tooling.
  • Support the development and maintenance of quality documentation in the area of Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, DFMEA’s, QA Function and Work Instructions.
  • Initiates plans and ideas for cost reduction and / or quality improvement measures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the organization is working with the most up-to-date and pertinent engineering drawings, data bases and parts list.
  • Accountable for on time submission of customer requirements for product launch (PPAP, prototype requirements, volume ramp, etc.)
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting in a timely manner deficiencies in program launch.
  • Follow up on post-launch progress of the projects to ensure production and quality targets are met.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Must have a good working knowledge and experience of /with Solid Works
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skill requirements include working experience with Blueprint Reading, GD&T, MS Project.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
