Our client, a leader in concrete reinforcement is looking for a Structural Engineer to support their growing North American operations in the conversion of tunnel structure designs and other constructions, ensuring product quality monitoring in collaboration with production, engineering and quality control. Reporting to the Performance and Engineering Group, the candidate will be based of their Brantford, Ontario facility.
The candidate will be required to travel between Brantford, Laval and make periodic visits to our California operations. Bilingualism is an asset, but English must be the first language.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Tunnels
o Understanding and reading of engineering tunnel design plans
o Analysis of applicable standards
o Assistance in the analysis of technical issues during bids
o Conversion of tunnel plan to lattice fabrication plan
o Understanding of the technical capabilities of the machines
o Design of lattice shop drawings
o Design of loading plans for transport
o Product coding design
o Project and deadline monitoring
o Helping to control the quality of manufactured products
o Help to optimize manufacturing processes
o Acts as a technical link with the client and communication
o Communicates project issues internally to production
o Visits the customer to ensure that the products manufactured are accepted

o Master the standards of our industry
o Analyze customer shop drawings and validate their content
o Understand the link between the customer’s need and their product request
o Check the technical data and standards applicable to the products
o Check the feasibility of manufacturing and suggest improvements
o Ensures that manufactured products comply with standards
o Approve shop drawings before production
o Approve manufactured products prior to shipment
