Our client, a leader in the concrete and landscaping business is looking for a talented Vice-President of Manufacturing to join their operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the direction, strategy, planning and coordination of the North American manufacturing operation. Reporting to the President, the VP will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team and will be expected to work collaboratively with the established leadership team and regional business unit leadership, The Vice President will play a key role in upholding and advancing the company’s culture.

The ideal candidate will focus on optimizing all aspects of manufacturing safety, efficiency, output, product quality, sustainability and customer service while reducing cost and waste.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide broad manufacturing leadership to consistently deliver on key cost, quality, service and output metrics
  • Maintain and enhance a robust performance measurement, standards & KPIs to quantitatively measure, understand and improve results across the function.
  • Act as the key driver to advance the continuous improvement process through identifying and implementing ways to improve efficiencies and identifying cost savings in the production area
  • In collaboration with the President, play lead role in developing our long-term manufacturing vision/footprint based on extended volume forecasts and capacity requirements.
  • Leads the Plant Managers to ensure maximum operational efficiency, through coaching, mentoring and by providing training and guidance
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental issues are prioritized and executed within plant operations.
  • Ensure manufacturing budget targets are met and the function plays a key role contributing to overall Company financial performance success.
  • Reviews, analyzes and presents potential opportunities across manufacturing operations.
  • Supports innovation initiatives to ensure efficient launch of new products and processes. Assist in the evaluations of new product development.
  • Key stakeholder in establishing and prioritizing all capital expenditure projects within Manufacturing.
  • Participates in the evaluation Plant Manager performance against established standards and participates in succession planning to ensure availability of key talent and optimum team efficiency.
  • Oversee the preventative and major maintenance programs/projects of the facility and equipment to ensure timely completion within the approved cost limits.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or related field and equivalent
    experience. MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 – 15 years’ work experience in Operations Management ideally gained in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 6 -8 years’ demonstrated experience leading, coaching and mentoring a team
  • A proven track record working in a fast-paced, multi-site nimble manufacturing environment with a proven track record in delivering productivity and process improvements
  • Outcome and results-oriented focus with the ability to analyze, plan and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business
  • Collaborative team player with superior influencing skills, capable of building relationships easily across
    various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward across the entire organization
