Building Structural Engineer
Our client located in Laval is seeking a building structural engineer with solid experience in consulting engineering to join their brand new office in the Laval area. The selected candidate will play a key role in the active management of residential, commercial, and institutional projects, in both the public and private sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze various structures in steel, concrete, or wood.
- Supervise the creation of plans, approve and certify them.
- Write calculation notes, technical documents, and drawings.
- Develop specifications and define construction methods.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and ensure their viability.
- Write detailed technical reports.
- Complete projects within planned deadlines and budgets.
- Perform surveys and inspections of building structures.
- Ensure effective communication with various stakeholders (clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors) throughout the projects.
- Supervise the execution of structural work during the construction phase.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards for each project.
- Support colleagues in different stages of projects.
- Perform all other tasks related to the position.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Building Structure option);
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm;
- Excellent knowledge of current standards and codes in Quebec;
- Ability to represent the company well to clients;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a team;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, knowledge of REVIT is an asset;
- Excellent command of spoken and written French, English is an asset;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
