Building Structural Engineer

Our client located in Laval is seeking a building structural engineer with solid experience in consulting engineering to join their brand new office in the Laval area. The selected candidate will play a key role in the active management of residential, commercial, and institutional projects, in both the public and private sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze various structures in steel, concrete, or wood.
  • Supervise the creation of plans, approve and certify them.
  • Write calculation notes, technical documents, and drawings.
  • Develop specifications and define construction methods.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and ensure their viability.
  • Write detailed technical reports.
  • Complete projects within planned deadlines and budgets.
  • Perform surveys and inspections of building structures.
  • Ensure effective communication with various stakeholders (clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors) throughout the projects.
  • Supervise the execution of structural work during the construction phase.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards for each project.
  • Support colleagues in different stages of projects.
  • Perform all other tasks related to the position.

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Building Structure option);
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm;
  • Excellent knowledge of current standards and codes in Quebec;
  • Ability to represent the company well to clients;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a team;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, knowledge of REVIT is an asset;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French, English is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
