Health and Safety Technician

We are looking for an occupational health and safety technician to join a well-established manufacturing company in the Warwick region. This key role is aimed at supporting the operations team in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for activities related to workplace health and safety;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of prevention strategies in OHS;
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose appropriate corrective measures;
  • Collaborate with managers and teams to ensure optimal compliance with OHS standards;
  • Oversee and update regulatory files related to prevention and safety;
  • Organize training sessions and awareness campaigns on best OHS practices;
  • Manage databases and software platforms used for OHS tracking;
  • Support the leadership team in executing OHS projects outlined in the strategic plan;
  • Participate in internal audits and inspections to ensure continuous improvement of workplace health and safety procedures.

Profile:

  • College or university degree in occupational health and safety, environment, or a related field;
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment;
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and best practices in OHS;
  • Experience in OHS project management and application of prevention standards.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Strong ability to analyze risks and OHS regulations;
  • Experience with OHS databases and software tools;
  • Mastery of legal requirements related to workplace prevention and safety.

  • Excellent communication and ability to simplify technical concepts;
  • Leadership focused on collaboration and teamwork;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills;
  • Proactive approach to improving OHS culture.

Contractual Information:

  • Initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or permanent employment;
  • Full-time position – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday;
