Procurement Technician

About the role

Do you want to play a central role in the smooth running of procurement operations in a dynamic organization? This position is for you.

As a procurement technician, you’ll actively participate in the purchasing cycle, ensuring the availability of the necessary materials and equipment. Your day-to-day work will be punctuated by rigorous tracking of orders, coordinating deliveries and meeting deadlines. Your objective? Contribute to the overall efficiency of operations.

This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, carriers as well as internal teams – including the warehouse – for optimal resource management.

Main responsibilities

  • Request and analyze quotes from suppliers;

  • Issue and follow up on purchase orders;

  • Check purchase confirmations and ensure compliance with vouchers issued;

  • Manage returns of non-conforming goods and deal with billing discrepancies;

  • Follow up overdue orders and follow up with suppliers as required;

  • Record receipts in the ERP system;

  • Associate materials with the right projects when entering costs;

  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with various internal and external stakeholders;

  • Contribute to the preparation of management and analysis reports;

  • Maintain and enhance tracking tools;

  • Participate in periodic inventories and ensure data accuracy;

  • Assist in updating performance indicators, particularly those related to suppliers;

  • Perform various administrative follow-ups to support procurement activities.

What you bring to the team

  • A DEC in logistics, procurement, operations management or equivalent experience (1 year min. in a similar role);

  • A good command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Outlook;

  • A comfortable working in a technological and digital environment;

  • A good sense of initiative and the ability to prioritize effectively;

  • Autonomy, versatility, adaptability;

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;

  • Able to perform well in a constantly changing environment;

  • Clear communication in French and English, both oral and written.
