Our client, a leader in the packaging industry is looking for a talented machine operator to join their operations in Etobicoke.   Basic Function   Setting up and adjusting printing presses and bag machines to meet requirements of producing a quality product meeting specifications.   Tasks   ·        Accurately fill Production Reports ·        Accurately fill RSI tickets ·        Test the film for gm/meter, colour, gauge and tearing. ·        Fill the Extruder QC Report ·        Operates the resin handling system on all lines ·        Threads up all extruders ·        Replaces the socks on all extruder IBC pipes ·        Cleans IBC pipes ·        Adjust the film layflat on all extruders ·        Adjust temperature settings on the barrel and die ·        Clean die lips of the die ·        Make necessary adjustments to the auto-gauge control ·        Set treater after job change ·        Operates the winder on all extruders ·        Maintains a clean and safe work area. ·        Complies with Company policies and procedures. ·        Performs all other tasks assigned by Management.     Principal Responsibilities   ·       Maintains a clean and safe working area ·       Direct the work of Helpers by monitoring and checking work ·       Follow safety procedures in the workplace; must attend and participate in all department and Plant safety meetings and training sessions ·       Comply and enforce all company policies and procedures     Education Requirements   ☑High School Diploma                                           ☐ Bachelors Degree ☑ Vocational School or Some College                     ☐ Masters Degree ☐ Associates Degree     Working Conditions   Manufacturing plant ·       12 hour rotating shifts ·       Some overtime is required ·       PPE required steel toe safety shoes, hearing protection, rubber gloves when working, protective gloves when cutting material. ·       Summer month’s plant can become very warm. ·       Rotating equipment machines have pinch points, hot areas for burns.   Physical Effort    ·       Moderate lifting, any heavy lifting assistance is provided with hoists or added personnel in the area   7am to 7pm – 12 hours shift rotating every 2 weeks – (48 hours week1, 36 hours week2) $1 premium on nights – no premium for weekend.
