Position: External Sales RepresentativeLocation: Vanier, QCType: Full-time, permanentA leading distributor of steel piping, valves and industrial fittings is looking for an External Sales Representative for its Quebec City branch. The successful candidate’s main role will be to maximize sales by prospecting and developing the loyalty of existing customers. He/she will be responsible for developing his/her territory, managing and maintaining the existing customer base, and achieving various sales objectives. Previous experience in industrial, mechanical and fire protection products is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills, good computer skills and be bilingual in French and English.Main responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with current and potential customers, through prospecting and participation in industry events.
- Resolve customer issues in collaboration with internal teams.
- Develop follow-up strategies for projects and on an ongoing basis.
- Meet and exceed sales targets, while providing reliable sales forecasts.
- Identify the needs of existing customers to introduce new products into inventory.
- Prepare annual sales forecasts and monitor targets with management.
- Plan and optimize meetings and deliveries by sector.
- Participate in industry trade shows and organize training sessions for customers.
- Assist the internal team as needed and stay up-to-date on the company's products.
- Generate reports, participate in special sales functions and assist in the order desk.
- Stay informed about the company's products.
- Minimum of 4 years'experience in customer service, prospecting, B2B sales, and customer retention.
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry, building mechanics and fire protection.
- Business development skills.
- Graduation in sales/marketing, business administration, mechanical engineering technology or related discipline.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints (asset).
- English and French bilingualism, oral and written.
- Communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Web applications.
- Autonomy, proactivity, organization and math skills.
- Availability for daily and occasional out-of-province travel.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to meet travel requirements within and outside Canada.
